What to expect?
Preparation Phase I
Phase I is a period for you to prepare and focus on your cleanse. More specifically, addressing how your diet, lifestyle & environment will all play a vital role in your experiencing an effective detox.
During these preparation days, you will want to eliminate (or at least substantially reduce) your use of coffee, other caffeine beverages, all tobacco products, alcohol, and any recreational drugs.
Simultaneously, you should eliminate intake of fast foods, processed foods, meat, dairy, enriched breads, refined sugars, and sweets. Focus instead on eating as many simple, whole foods as possible, such as the fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds from the provided grocery list.
Keep in mind that the preparatory phase is as important as the active phase, as the body also needs to prepare to detox effectively. To eliminate excess of Doshas and toxicity, both mind and body need to be willing and ready.
Preparation Phase II (Active Phase)
This is the heart and most important phase of the cleanse. This time consists mostly of reducing the diet further, which aids the detoxification process, maintaining hydration, and adding the suggested herbs.
During this time, you will be eating a monodiet of kitchari or plain dal. Kitchari is substantial enough to support your essential responsibilities, while simultaneously resetting the digestive system and supporting the elimination of toxins. You could add on the side a very small portion of cooked vegetables from the list that will be provided.
During this phase of the cleanse, you will practice self-massage, other cleansing practices, gentle yoga or walking, pranayama, and supportive herbs. As a tailored program, individual suggestions vary from person to person during this phase.
Phase III (Reintroduction and Rejuvenation)
Phase III can consist of 5-7 days, while the rejuvenation portion can last up to two months. You will continue to receive tips and suggestions by email until the 21st day.
After you complete the active cleansing phase, your body will still be processing the toxins that were stirred into circulation, and your digestive system will have become accustomed to a very clean diet. A slow transition is as important as the preparatory Phase I.
This is also a good time to identify which foods aggravate you as you slowly incorporate them.
It is important to prepare for this Phase, since after so many days of eating the suggested monodiet of Kitchari, your body will want stimulating foods. It can become a very challenging period.
You will receive meal diversification suggestions to help your Agni emerge stronger. Agni, according to Ayurveda, is one of the most important pillars, if not the most important, in maintaining good health.
We invite you to read our testimonials and envision your own life-affirming detox experience.
We look forward to your participation and welcome!
